Happy Valentine’s Day

I laughed today when I read that Valentine’s Day evolved from the Roman fertility festival Lupercalia. This festival featured public drunkenness, nudity in the streets, fertility rituals and the matching of couples by drawing names from a jar. That doesn’t sound very pandemic friendly.

This year, we are staying home, having a dinner of steak and mashed potatoes, a heart shaped cake and cookies of course. I’ve been saving my silly heart shaped potato pictures just for today. Perhaps by next year I will have some more heart shaped vegetables to post! Have a happy day!
