This Canada Day we will be staying home having a Barbeque – hopefully enjoying some warm weather. We celebrate Canada Day on July 1st each year to commemorate the July 1, 1867 enactment of the British North America Act.
I thought I would share a few Canadian Flag pictures. I am thankful for the thoughtful person that placed the Canadian flag over this beaver dam! I love a good pun so I am thankful for beaver dams as well. I was going to make the title “Have a Dam Good Canada Day”, but thought better of it.
The beaver has been a symbol of Canada for a long time, but the National Symbol of Canada Act was not passed by Parliament until 1975. “An Act to provide for the recognition of the Beaver (Castor canadensis) as a symbol of the sovereignty of Canada”

We snapped this picture while driving to Ottawa last year, and loved the masked Big Apple – a local tourist attraction.

The Canada Day billboard in Biggar Saskatchewan – where the town motto is “New York is big, but this is Biggar.”

The above picture is not clear at all, as the gentleman driving the pickup truck ahead of us was speeding SOO much, but nevertheless I loved the idea of the Canadian Flag hanging from a hockey stick on the back of a pickup truck.

Happy Canada Day and happy summer!

Thank you!!!
Your caption “Have a dam good Canada Day” is hilarious.
Whoever waded out into that swamp to plant a Canadian flag in the beaver dam should get an award! (I don’t think it was the beavers)
