Karma – What Goes Around Comes Around?

I am working today on some positive thinking, but sometimes things are mighty hard! Does what goes around really come around?

I am not expert on spiritualism, but I am curious about the concept of Karma.  Karma involves the concept of an action or deed causing a cycle of cause and effect.  “What goes around comes around” is what they say. But why do people who do bad things seem to just chug along unfazed? It’s apparently because people don’t get what they deserve, they get what they attract. Now I’m more confused. But I guess this means not to worry about what happens to these people, but to focus on the things that we do ourselves.

I have been working on positive thinking, doing the right thing, and trying to teach my young adult children to do the right thing.  Why then, do bad things happen? It seems hopeless and discouraging to think that working hard and doing good things just keeps on generating bad karma.

We tend to think of karma as meaning if we do the right things, good things will happen.  So if bad things happen, then we must have done something bad.  Apparently karma isn’t just an individual thing.  Life is difficult. It’s also wonderful. So if something bad happens to you, but great things are happening to other people, then you can still react by saying or doing something positive.  Putting some more happiness into the cosmic, karmic melting pot.

I’m working on positive thinking and looking forward to some happy karma stew! Take care.

  1. Out of those painful encounters life does tend to throw at us, are many Lessons for us to grow. And yes, it is all in the attitude as well that assists us to see the truth about the Life Lessons that are given to us.

  2. Good and bad things happen to both good and bad people. And there are some things we can control and some we can’t. By being positive I do feel you can be more content in more circumstances and I do think we can control some of what happens to us by our attitudes and behaviors and our speech. It makes us feel better sometimes to say what goes around comes around and if not on this earth then I believe it will happen in judgement day. I’m a Christian so I believe that God will take the revenge on the ones that don’t choose to follow Him and he’ll protect the ones that do eternally, but not necessarily in this life. I do think scripture indicates that God intervenes at times with his own anger and His own love. My best take is to try to love everyone- some make that easier than others lol 😂

  3. For whose benefit are we acting?
From the accumulation of what desires, actions, and impressions do our current desires arise?
How do we step off this speeding wheel of accumulated desires, actions, and impressions that determine our thoughts, actions, and desires?
For whose benefit are we acting?
