Read more: Happy Thanksgiving 2024We’re thrilled to be back home in Southern Ontario after a summer filled with lake life and outdoor adventures. Over the past few days, we’ve been sprucing up the garden and getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Nothing says Thanksgiving like posting our latest pictures of those silly wild turkeys!
This year, our table will welcome seven guests, including a vegan, someone who’s non-dairy and non-turkey, and a few traditional meat-eaters. With a mix of dietary preferences, we still love coming together over our favorite Thanksgiving classics. These cherished dishes remind us of past celebrations and spark lively conversations about family and friends.
We’re keeping the turkey simple with a spatchcock preparation, and for our non-turkey and meat-loving guests, we’re adding foil-wrapped ribs to the menu. Our vegan chef is preparing a special casserole—I’m curious to see what creative dish she will make!
Guests will contribute some sides too: potatoes and a dessert are on their way. The Vegan Pumpkin Biscotti is already made, and the Vegan Pumpkin Pie is currently baking. Meanwhile, my husband is busy chopping vegetables and planning the turkey dressing.
The table is set, though our guests won’t arrive until tomorrow. Now, I wonder, what else should I make? And what game should we play?
